When there is silence, give your voice.
When there is darkness, shine your light.
When there is desperation, offer hope.
– Tim Fargo @alphabetsuccess
Starting from ourselves is an empowering way to take actions and an inspiring way to keep it up. It is not what we experience in life that determines our fate, because it is out of our control; it is how we react to what life throws at us that determines the kind of life we are living. It works on ourselves, as well as on how we treat other people.
Instead of complaining about darkness, why not make us the fireflies, lighting up the dark nights with our dim light, like Jim Stovall did. He became blind due to a genetic illness. Withdrawal from an active athlete with promising future, life gave him the toughest blow we could ever imagine. Stepping out of his cocoon, he created Narrative Television Network to shine light into the life of the blind.
Instead of being drawn down in the POW camp, James Stockdale injected hope to the lives of his peers. It was not positive thinking, but the hope of having control of your life. “You must never confuse faith that you will prevail in the end – which you can never afford to lose – with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be.”
Thank you for your inspiration, Tim.
